How do I populate my Warré hive with bees?
( 1 Article )
The easiest way would be to obtain a swarm - talk to your local beekeeping association as they probably maintain a list of beekeepers looking for swarms.
If you decide to wait for a swarm it's worth putting your hive in position as swarms sometimes move into unoccupied hives on their own.
If you buy a nucleus of bees or are transferring bees from another hive you will need to make an adapter board so that they move down into the Warré hive - let us know if you'd like us to help with this.

How do I use the integrated feeder drawer?
( 1 Article )
You may need to feed your bees if you have a new swarm or at the end of the winter if you think their stores may be insufficient.
Make up a sugar syrup of 1lb granulated sugar to 1 pint of water. Dissolve the sugar and allow to cool, then pour into the tray supplied. The bee landing strips will float on the syrup.
Some beekeepers prefer to use candy.
